A note from VOHM president, Greg Schuenke
Dear Friends of VOHM:
God listens and answers our prayers through those that call
Jesus Lord! We sent you an urgent email
and newsletter in May of 2009 detailing the heavy burden upon our ministry work
in Haiti. A convergence of several factors
required additional support:
College Susan Schuenke accident $25,000
Ministry truck totaled in the accident $37,000
Gonaives orphan care & lot/building need $18,550 College Susan Schuenke budget deficit May-Aug.2009 $66,000
Total unplanned income needs $146,550
I have had the honor and blessing of serving in this
ministry for over 10 years and I must confess I was worried as to how
we could
possibly cover these expenses in the current economy and with the
current operating
budget needs. I told the Lord that I could not see how we would cover
these needs and I realized that we would need to release this to into
His hands and
pray for His help. We did and the answers are coming
in. We have received over $90,000 since May toward these
unplanned needs!!
Lord, thank you for your provision and thank you for all who
responded to our need in this very difficult time in our country. This can only be by God's hand and confirms
and strengthens my conviction that God is blessing and wants this work to
continue! Blessings to you and thank
you so very much.
We have received funds to cover a new ministry vehicle and
the medical expenses for the school transportation accident.
Funds are coming in to cover the orphan housing and the CSS budget deficit
but we are not there yet. Unmet needs:
Orphan housing $7,000
CSS budget shortfall $58,000
If it is possible for you to help with these remaining
shortfalls for this year we would be so very thankful.
Thank you all for standing with us for Christ in Haiti.

Prayer Requests
- Continue
to pray for healing for Piyou, the driver involved in the school
transportation accident, and the student with the broken bone.
- Pray for College Susan Schuenke students and staff as we prepare to begin another school year in September.
- Pray for strength for the Luciens as they continue to minister in Haiti.
- Pray
for the Lucien girls, Abby, Hannah, and Rebekah. Hannah and Rebekah
continue their college educations this fall and Abby is a senior in
high school with many important decisions to make this year about her
ongoing education. All three girls attend school here in the states.
- Pray
for the Rotary grant application submitted by VOHM, the Cap Haitien and
Eagle River, WI Rotary clubs, and the Berard church requesting funds to
drill a safe fresh water well in Berard.
